What is the best robot vacuum cleaner? Our expert says iRobot, Eufy and Ecovacs

Robot vacuum cleaners have come a long way since we started to try them a decade ago. Based on the results of our test labs, and I’ve been testing robot vacuums for over 10 years, we’re getting to the point where robot vacuums will be on par with hand vacuums.

The problem is that there are so many robotic vacuum cleaners to choose from that it can be confusing which ones are worth checking out. To help separate the wheat from the chaff, we’re going to go over three of our top picks.

The j7+ is the all-rounder in the world of high-end robot vacuums, offering excellent cleaning, the ability to self-empty and being up-to-date with many of the latest software developments.

2. Eufy 11S

For whom is this?: Anyone looking for a basic and affordable robot vacuum cleaner

When it comes to value, it’s hard to beat the Eufy 11S. Whether you get the vanilla version or the Max model, the Eufy 11S can be had for less than $250.

During testing in our robotic vacuum cleaner obstacle course, the 11S proved its worth. It picked up about 11 grams of dirt per pass, which means the 11S can help maintain floors over the course of a week.

One of the reasons this Eufy is such a great cleaner is its size. It measures 2.85 inches tall, making it 10-15% shorter than the average robot vacuum. The end result is that 9/11 is much better able to get at dust buildups under shelves and furniture.

That 11S doesn’t have any smart features, but that may be a feature itself and not a bug.
